Senior Controller (w/m/d)

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Controller (f/m/d) to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team.
The Senior Controller is responsible for continuously monitoring the achievement of corporate objectives, managing the company's planning processes, overseeing ongoing budget control, and ensuring comprehensive reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The role focuses on the following key responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the medium-term planning process and drive the annual detailed planning and budgeting cycle
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for various stakeholders, including ongoing budget-to-actual variance analysis and commentary
  • Analyze overall business and sales performance using relevant KPIs, while continuously enhancing reporting tools and performance metrics
  • Manage the monthly forecasting process
  • Support the organization and execution of quarterly Executive Finance Committee meetings
  • Actively contribute to the rolling medium-term capital and liquidity planning process
  • Prepare reporting materials and presentations for monthly shareholder meetings, Supervisory Board meetings, and other management committees
  • Conduct performance and budget analyses for subsidiaries and branch offices.
  • Continuously develop and improve controlling models, methodologies, and systems, identifying and implementing emerging trends and best practices in controlling and financial management
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Management Report as part of the Annual Report

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a comparable qualification
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Controlling / Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably within the financial services or banking industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of how business and competitive environments impact corporate strategy
  • Proven experience in the continuous development and enhancement of controlling systems, processes, and methodologies
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles under German GAAP (HGB) and/or IFRS, as well as a good understanding of key capital market products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experienced in working with information and analytical tools
  • Ability to work conceptually, systematically, and independently, combined with a proactive mindset and a willingness to contribute innovative ideas for the continuous improvement of existing processes and methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
